- Ginger or turmeric is a healthy product that can be made into ginger or turmeric juice, sauce or powder drinks.
- Turmeric is the most common spice largely cultivated in India, which is followed by Bangladesh, China, Thailand, Cambodia, Malaysia, Indonesia, and the Philippines. It is also cultivated on a small scale in most tropical regions in Africa, America, and the Pacific Ocean Islands. Being the largest producer and consumer, India is the leading exporter of turmeric in the world. Turmeric can be used as herbal medicine for rheumatoid arthritis, conjunctivitis, skin cancer, smallpox, chickenpox, wound healing, urinary tract infections, and liver ailments. Turmeric is also used for digestive disorders; helps to reduce flatus, jaundice, menstrual difficulties, abdominal pain, and improve immunity.

Ginger/Turmeric Processing Plant Technological FlowchartÂ
Ginger/turmeric juice: Fresh ginger or turmeric after washing, sorting, peeling, and crushing, then transfer to the juice extractor to get the ginger or turmeric juice, then the juice after blending with syrup, tea or other ingredients in blending tanks, and pump into the sterilizer and homogenizer unit, after sterilizing, the ginger or turmeric juice can be filled into bottles or cans.
Turmeric shots: The turmeric shots are the RDT drinks that contain turmeric mash/puree as raw material, ingredients such as black pepper, honey, orange juices etc. The turmeric shots processing includes turmeric washing and peeling, crushing and mashing, ingredients adding and blending, turmeric shots homogenizing and sterilizing, filling and packing system.
Ginger/turmeric sauce/paste: Fresh ginger or turmeric will be washed, and peeled, then use the pulping machine or colloid mill to get the ginger or turmeric pulp, then add the water, oil, salt and other ingredients, then after homogenizing and sterilizing, then filling into metal cans or jars.
Ginger/Turmeric powder: Fresh ginger or turmeric will be washed, peeled and sliced into 1-4mm thickness slices, then use the belt dryer to dry the ginger or turmeric slice water content to less than 12%, then transfer to the dry ginger slice into the superfine grinder to grind them into the powder, finally the powder will be filled into pouches.

Ginger or turmeric washing and peeling machine
There are two type of washing machine for ginger and turmeric, one is the air bubble washing, the other is drum washing machine, the first one is mainly removing the muds and the second one is to clean thoroughly of the whole gingers and turmeric, and the drum washing machine can install the hard brushes to peel the gingers when washing.
Ginger/turmeric paste or sauce making machine
The turmeric sauce making machines also include two types, the first one is the colloid mill, and the other is the pulping machine, according to clients’ budget and capacity, we can choose the suitable machine to make the turmeric sauce or paste. All the machine is made of SUS304 material, the paste viscosity and solid content can be adjusted with the different sieve screen.
Ginger/turmeric juice extracting machine
Ginger/turmeric juice extracting we can use screw press or barrel hydraulic press to get the juice. The screw press can work continuously, whereas barrel hydraulic press will work in batch, but the juice from the hydraulic press has higher quality than screw press because of cold press extracting.
Ginger/turmeric sauce or juice blending machine
The SUS304 tanks will be used for mixing all the materials and ingredients to make the sauce. The tank has the stir, when adding the ingredients, the stir will start working to mix all evenly. This tank is easy to clean thanks to the CIP cleaning ball, and the design can be single layer, double layers or triple layers according to clients’ technological requirements.
Ginger/turmeric sauce or juice sterilizing and homogenizing machine
In order to make the ginger or turmeric more delicious and smooth, the high-pressure homogenizer will be used to emulsify all the material. The pressure is 35-40Mpa and the temperature is about 55℃.
After homogenizing, the ginger or turmeric juice can be sterilized by tubular sterilizer at 105℃, and the ginger or turmeric sauce can be sterilized or pasteurized by tube in tube pasteurizer at 90-115℃.
Ginger/turmeric sauce or juice filling machineÂ
Ginger/turmeric juice can be filled into metal cans or bottles with hot filling; and for ginger/turmeric sauce, it can be filled into glass jars or cans, to extend the shelf life, liquid nitrogen or foil sealing measures can be taken.
